The survey was designed in partnership with researchers at Sacred Heart University. The results will allow GrooveSafe to understand the current prevalence of nonconsensual touching, harassment, and sexual misconduct. The findings will be used as a baseline for GrooveSafe to learn what outreach, education, and partnerships may be most helpful. GrooveSafe’s goal is to improve overall safety and respect for everyone, and the survey will help determine whether or not progress is being made over time.

GrooveSafe started as a movement in the live music community to bring awareness to unwanted touching and sexual violence at concerts. The organization became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2019, as it grew the effort to create more support and resources for our community. While many fans have shared their experiences with GrooveSafe, there is more to learn.
To further its mission of creating a safer and more inclusive environment within the live music community, GrooveSafe, a nonprofit initiative aimed at combating unwanted touching and sexual assaults at concerts, has launched a comprehensive survey to delve deeper into the fan experience.
